Proposal 212: The Safe Syringe Access & Support Program

At the City County Council meeting on May 21st Proposal 212 was introduced. The Safe Syringe Access & Support Program (SSAS) is a crucial step in stemming an alarming increase of Hepititis C and HIV in Marion County. Lots of public education will surround this important issue. I urge everyone to read the proposal, and more importantly to understand the data driving the proposal (found in the following links). I am proud to co-sponsor Proposal 212 with 11 of my colleagues from both sides of the aisle. Our Governor is also supportive of the life-saving, fiscally responsible measures outlined in this proposal.
