District 2 is full of vibrant, involved citizens who take pride in their city and get involved in local issues. This is a wonderful thing! Many citizens of District two contact me for help on various issues, and I love to hear about what matters to you. However, the volume of communications can be overwhelming. For instance, last year I received over 50,000 emails in addition to numerous phone calls. While I would love to personally answer each person within a day, this simply isn’t possible with the volume of communications I receive. In order to better serve my district, I have enlisted the help of two women to assist me in organizing and answering constituent communications. Our goal is to be able to answer everyone in a timely manner. While most of their work will occur behind the scenes, they may attend various events and community meetings with me from time to time.
First up, meet Cassie:
Cassie has lived her entire life in Indianapolis and is currently finishing her senior year at the University of Indianapolis. She is majoring in Political Science with minors in Psychology and Legal and Studies and plans to attend law school in the fall of 2018 to study either criminal or business law.
Cassie previously interned at the Marion County Republican Party during the 2016 election cycle and spent time working on several campaigns. She is excited to get back into the political field by helping out Councillor Fanning.
In her free time Cassie enjoys reading, spending time with her niece and nephew, playing with her 3 dogs (2 Rottweilers and a German Shepherd), relaxing with friends, and working on her new-found love for event planning and photography.
Second, meet Claire:
Claire moved to Indianapolis from Illinois in 2013 for a full time job with Eli Lilly & Company working as an engineer in manufacturing. She holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University (Peoria, IL) and a minor in Spanish. Claire first traveled internationally to study abroad in Friedrichshafen, Germany and Sevilla, Spain in 2010. She found that she loved exploring new places and learning about new things, and she has since traveled to Haiti, Peru, and Kenya.
