Broad Ripple Duck Race and the Canal Esplanade

Sunday, June 25th was an exciting day in Broad Ripple!

First, the Broad Ripple Canal Duck Race was the biggest it has ever been! 2,000 rubber ducks swam their way down the Broad Ripple Canal in the beautiful sunshine. Councillor Fanning and Mayor Hogsett even got to dump the ducks!

The $5 ducks raised money for the Broad Ripple Village Association. There were also many family friendly carnival activities before the race to enjoy. This year was the 4th year for the duck race, and next year promises to be even bigger! You won’t want to miss it. See local news coverage of the duck race here.

Second, the Canal Esplanade is now open! It is a beautiful addition to our beautiful Broad Ripple. Located in front of The Coil, the canal esplanade offers a beautiful place to enter Broad Ripple Village, sit by the canal, and meet up with friends. The ribbon cutting ceremony took place on Sunday with Mayor Hogsett, Councillor Fanning, and others.
