Here is a link to the most recent article from the Indy Star :
Currently the FEMA flood insurance plan for Marion County has been suspended for new applicants. If you currently have flood insurance, this will not affect your coverage.
The City is filing a federal lawsuit against FEMA that will immediately cause a stay of the order to not issue policies until the language can be fixed.
It is highly frustrating that the administration presented us language that we were told could not be changed in order to keep the insurance program going – only to have it then rejected by FEMA.
I will remain in constant communication with Chief of Staff Thomas Cook and Counselor Andy Mallon to remain up to date on the problem as a whole, and how District 2 residents will be impacted. If you have questions, please feel free to email him directly at: Thomas.Cook@indy.gov
